Pauliina Damdimopoulou is a Professor of Reproductive Biology at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, where she leads an independent research group within the Department of Women’s and Children’s Health. She also serves as Focus Area Lead in Environmental Endocrinology at the European Society of Endocrinology and is the Swedish Ambassador for the European Research Council (ERC).
Pauliina obtained her PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Turku, Finland, and conducted postdoctoral research in France at WatchFrog (Paris) and in Sweden at Karolinska Institutet. Her research focuses on how environmental chemicals and pharmaceuticals affect human ovarian biology and female fertility, integrating human tissue models, in vitro systems, and single-cell and spatial omics technologies. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles.
