Social action programmes
We promote free assistance programmes and social awareness campaigns to improve women's quality of life, with a special focus on vulnerable groups
Stories that matter
Women’s health goes far beyond medical care. There are pathologies, treatments and physical problems related to sexual and reproductive health that leave sequelae or have an emotional and personal impact, as they can affect future plans, such as the desire for motherhood, personal relationships, body image, intimate well-being, sexuality and women’s self-esteem.
That is why, through our Foundation, we have launched various programmes that offer psychological support, multidisciplinary care and free healthcare, with the aim of accompanying women in these situations and offering them resources so that they can improve their wellbeing and quality of life.
Behind every programme, there are people helping others
They are aimed at people who have names and different needs, such as:
Marta, who has just received an unexpected diagnosis and does not know how to explain it to her children;
Ana, who wants to freeze her eggs to preserve her fertility before undergoing chemotherapy;
Amina, a victim of genital mutilation in childhood, who has just turned 18 and wants to feel and look like other women her age;
Lucía, for whom attending a gynaecological consultation is an almost impossible task due to a physical disability; or
Montse, who after breast cancer no longer feels the same and has not been able to enjoy her sexuality again.
All these stories have one thing in common: women’s healthcare requires comprehensive care, and women’s gynaecological, sexual and reproductive health is an essential right for them to enjoy a full life. This is the starting point for our Foundation’s social action, which takes the form of various programmes and initiatives:
Care for cancer patients
After a cancer diagnosis, many questions arise, and even if the patient initially faces the disease with a positive attitude, it is important to offer emotional support and resources so that she feels accompanied throughout the process and can resume her activities with the best possible quality of life.
Social programmes
In addition to its cancer patient care programmes, the Dexeus Mujer Foundation devotes special attention to different groups that find themselves in vulnerable situations.
