Accompaniment and support to aid physical, psychological and aesthetic rehabilitation
The Dexeus Mujer Foundation offers a support and guidance programme for cancer patients through volunteers who have overcome breast cancer.
The aim of this programme is for patients who have physically and emotionally overcome breast cancer to help women diagnosed with breast cancer by offering them a model for coping positively and overcoming the disease.
What it consists of
The testimonial volunteering programme for breast cancer patients is a support and accompaniment programme aimed at women who have undergone breast cancer surgery to help them in their physical, psychological and aesthetic rehabilitation.
The volunteers are women who have gone through the process of physical and emotional recovery and who, through this programme, will share their experience with other women who are currently in the same situation they once faced.
Women who are coping with a breast cancer diagnosis need to identify with another woman who is an example of positive coping and who understands their concerns.
