Throughout 2025, the Dexeus Mujer Foundation strengthened its commitment to improving women’s health and wellbeing by promoting numerous initiatives in the fields of research, scientific dissemination, education and social action.
In the field of research, the Foundation supported more than 70 retrospective and prospective clinical studies, further reinforcing its capacity to generate applied scientific knowledge. This commitment resulted in an outstanding scientific output, with more than 30 papers published in leading national and international peer-reviewed journals. The Foundation also launched a new forum for discussion, “Dexeus Debates in Fertility”, designed to encourage the exchange of knowledge and professional experience, while actively participating in more than 20 international scientific congresses and meetings.
Teaching and training continued to play a central role in the Foundation’s work, in line with its strategic objective of knowledge transfer and professional development.
In the area of social action, the Foundation continued its work through a range of programmes providing free healthcare, including the Fertility Preservation Programme for women with cancer, awareness campaigns and workshops aimed at improving women’s quality of life—with the support of well-known brands such as women’secret and Mango—and the Post-FGM Genital Reconstruction Programme, through which more than 160 women have undergone reconstructive surgery to date.
The Dexeus Mujer Foundation also continued its humanitarian project in Cameroon, launched in 2023 in partnership with the Fondation Jean Félicien Gacha. The 2025 mission achieved outstanding results, including more than 170 major surgical procedures successfully performed, almost 900 children treated in paediatric consultations and around 1,000 medical consultations, while also contributing to significant improvements in surgical standards and hospital organisation.
Another highlight of 2025 was the presentation of the 19th Dexeus Mujer Foundation Award to Professor Arri Coomarasamy, which was personally presented this year by Her Majesty Queen Letizia to mark the Foundation’s 30th anniversary.
All these activities are featured in the Dexeus Mujer Foundation Annual Report 2025, which is now available online:
